What is this Mermaid Webcam thingy?
If your computer has a webcam and mic connected to it. Mermaid Webcam Broadcaster allows you to broadcast your webcam+mic to the world which can be received on Mermaid Webcam Reciever(s). It has 2 components, a broadcaster, and a receiver. Using the broadcaster, you can create a network and start broadcasting. Using the reciever, you can join a webcam network and watch it. To join a webcam, you need an invite or the network-id/password. Simple.

How many people can receive my broadcast?
Looking at other softwares you would be expecting 4 or 10 or 100. Well the software itself has no inherent limitation and the algorithm is scalable enough to support reception by every computer on this planet which are connected to each other through the internet.
So 1 billion should be a good figure

The software gives an error and exits. Whats happening?
The only situation that can occur is when both your webcam and microphone are not connected to your computer. Or the drivers for sound card or webcam are missing or corrupted. Check if you can use the webcam and mic using some other software you have and if that works. Mermaid Webcam should have no problems running. If you still face problems let us know the steps to replicate the problem and we will solve it. You can contact us using our contact us page.

Can I adjust the image resolution?
Mermaid Webcam is an entry level software and is hard wired to broadcast at the highest resolution of your webcam. This cannot be changed. If you need more flexibility please look at Mermaid Multisource, which also is free. Mermaid Webcam was created as a hassle free way for people to start broadcasting without worrying about tuning the software too much.
